Research Profile
Jessica Nihlén Fahlquist conducts research into different notions of responsibility and how these could be applied to R&D networks. Her postdoc project, "Conceptual and moral analysis of responsibility" is one part of the project called "Moral responsibility in R&D networks", which is funded by NWO. This project studies the so called "problem of many hands" in R&D networks and the problem is conceived as a tension between the requirements of completeness and fairness in distributions of responsibility. Jessica's project aims at developing a notion of moral responsibility that is able to achieve a complete and fair distribution of responsibilities in R&D networks. Other research interests include the ethics of climate change and political philosophy.
She was responsible for developing and teaching a course in political philosophy at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm 2004-2006. She has also taught courses in ethics and technology and philosophy of science.
